Neighborhood Signage Project

Joe Louis Greenway

The Joe Louis Greenway Neighborhood Signage Project combined design, research, and community engagement to highlight the historical and cultural significance of the Midwest-Tireman segment the Greenway passes through. The process included digging through archival imagery and gathering feedback from community members to ensure the signage told the stories and history of the neighborhood and its people. Created in collaboration with the City of Detroit, the Joe Louis Greenway team, and neighborhood residents, the resulting wayfinding is both visually engaging and deeply rooted in local stories.
